The 14 Blues Solos and Rhythms courses
lay down the foundation for rhythm and improvisation development. The Blues is one of the most basic, expressive, and flexible musical forms over which to solo, and is arguably the best place to begin to develop a feel for rhythm and improvisation.
This package includes three books and one CD. The audio for both 14 Blues Solos and Blues Rhythms for Guitar have been combined onto one CD.
However, the written music is in two separate books. Each book contains fourteen blues songs, each twelve bars long - the traditional blues pattern length.
There are two tracks on the CD for each play-along blues song. The first track is the solo from the 14 Blues Solos for Guitar book, and the second track is the rhythm from the Blues Rhythms for Guitar book.
The Solos and Rhythms tracks are identical, except that the lead guitar track has been excluded from the Rhythms track.
To help become comfortable playing anywhere on the guitar fingerboard, 14 Blues Solos and Blues Rhythms for Guitar includes rhythms in the keys of A, C, G, and E. Eleven of the rhythms are in 4/4 meter and three are in 12/8 meter.
Most of the rhythms in 14 Blues Solos and Blues Rhythms Guitar are interpretations of rhythms used by musicians such as John Mayall, Eric Clapton and Duane Allman.
Special Note for Bass players:
Stereo separation allows independent isolation. Bass players may turn off the bass channel (right channel) and practice with guitar and drums only. You can use the bass patterns that are already written, or improvise by making up your own bass lines or solos.
